Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR)

The combined practice of investigating security incidents and collecting digital evidence to understand and contain them.

Also known as DFIR digital forensics forensic investigation

Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) combines two disciplines: forensically sound evidence collection and the operational work of containing and recovering from an incident. DFIR teams reconstruct what happened, how attackers got in, and what they accessed.

Infostealer intelligence accelerates DFIR by answering the access question early. If stealer logs show a victim's credentials were sold before the breach, investigators can confirm the entry vector quickly instead of chasing dead ends.
