Data breach detection is the practice of identifying when sensitive information has been exposed, whether through database theft, misconfigured storage, or credential compromise. Traditional detection relies on dark web monitoring, honeypots, and vendor disclosures.
Infostealer intelligence provides an earlier signal. When employee credentials for internal systems appear in stealer logs, that is a breach precursor even if no data has been exfiltrated yet. Combining both approaches gives defenders the earliest possible warning.
